Civic Education-Habeas corpus

The Constitution of Kenya, Article 51- Rights of persons detained, held in custody or imprisoned.

Article 51(2) states;- A person who is detained or held in custody is entitled to petition for an order of habeas corpus.

Habeas corpus meaning- this is an order issued by the court to produce a person in court in order to enable the legal process to be effected and to determine whether the person has a case to answer.
